February 13, 2010 - Lake Minnetonka - Minnesota
Jackson holding a toothy 30 inch Northern Pike caught through the ice of Lake Minnetonka-Minnesota on February 13, 2010.

He set all of the tip-up rigs and minnows through every hole in the ice.  When the flag went up, we calmly left our heated shanty, walked over to the tip-up and slowly lifted it.  The spool of line on the tip-up had been completely taken out to the end.  Inch-by-inch, we slowly pulled in slack line until we could feel the fish on the other end.  A sharp yank and then hand-over-hand the northern was pulled back to the hole and out of the freezing water.
